DISCHARGE CHUTE PLUGGED
Problem Solutions
Belt not installed correctly. Check belt.
Grass too wet. Wait for grass to dry.
Grass too long. Raise cutting height and cut grass twice.
Travel speed to fast. Slow down.
Engine rpm too low. Mow at full throttle.
   
PATCHES OF GRASS UNCUT
Problem Solutions
Travel speed too fast. Slow down.
Engine rpm too low. Mow at full throttle.
Blades dull or damaged. Have blades sharpened or replace blades.
BELT SLIPPING
Problem Solutions
Mower plugged. Unplug and clean mower deck.
Trash in pulleys. Clean pulleys.
EXCESSIVE VIBRATION
Problem Solutions
Trash on mower deck or in pulleys. Clean mower deck.
Not enough clearance between belt shield and belt. Adjust clearance.
Damaged drive belt. Replace drive belt.
Damaged pulleys or pulleys out of alignment. Replace pulleys. See your John Deere dealer.
Blades out of balance. Have blades balanced.
BLADES SCALPING GRASS
Problem Solutions
Cutting too low. Raise cutting height.
Turning speed too fast. Reduce speed on turns.
Rough or uneven terrain. Change mowing pattern.
Adjust mower wheels.
Low tire pressure. Inflate tires.
UNEVEN CUT
Problem Solutions
Mower not level. Level mower
Travel speed too fast. Slow down.
Blades dull. Have blades sharpened and balanced.
Mower wheels not adjusted correctly. Adjust wheels.
 
MOWER LOADS DOWN TRACTOR
Problem Solutions
Engine rpm too low. Mow at full throttle.
Travel speed to fast. Slow down.
